When I got off the plane and walked up to hug my tío, I swear he was sitting next to Robert Duvall! I looked that dude right in the eye, but didn’t say anything because, of course, I have no celebrity-name-memory skills. My tío didn’t recognize him, but he’d listened to dude’s entire conversation. It also looked like he had a brown servant…I mean, driver…I mean, person with a suit and a serious earpiece…I mean, personal assistant…with him. So of course I figured he must be a famous U.S. celebrity.
But then again, I also thought I was sitting next to Buffy the Vampire Slayer on the plane. I flew Southwest, so in retrospect, she was probably not Buffy. Which probably means that dude was not Robert Duvall. ¿Quien sabe?
…but if it was him, he definitely looks better in person!

Whenever the commercial for the new 90210 series plays—usually during my bedtime t.v.-watching ritual—the music alone causes an instinctual reaction in which I immediately leap for the remote, lest the show begin before I can change the channel. Then I realize it’s just a commercial. Interestingly, I have the same reaction when the 700 show comes on or when I hear W’s voice on NPR too early in the morning. I wonder what else causes this response…Photo reblogged from Point of Focus
Acid Rain, Washington, D.C., 1981
In this macro close-up, a bromophemol solution is dripped on raindrops found on a daisy petal to test their acidity. The solution is reddish and has turned one drop yellow. The rain is pH 3, the same as vinegar. (Photograph by Robert Sisson.)

“It’s tough to know what Spain’s basketball teams were thinking when they chose to collectively make “slit-eyed” gestures (above a stenciled dragon) while posing for a pre-Olympics advertisement.”

AP IMPACT: Seoul probes civilian ‘massacres’ by US - USATODAY.com
“SEOUL, South Korea — South Korean investigators, matching once-secret documents to eyewitness accounts, are concluding that the U.S. military indiscriminately killed large groups of refugees and other civilians early in the Korean War.”
“This July 26, 1950 file photo, shows Korean refugees heading south in the Yongdong area of central South Korea early in the Korean War. Fearing North Korean infiltrators among such refugees, U.S. warplanes targeted “people in white,” the color most worn by Korean civilians, as potential enemy. Investigators for South Korea’s 2 1/2 year-old Truth and Reconciliation Commission believe hundreds of innocent civilians were killed this way. (AP Photo/File)”

You’re name really sounds familiar. And looking at your photo, I can sort of picture what you looked like in high school…but, you look a lot different now I think…
So, am I close or totally off on this?
